Nomin Ochir

My name is Nomin. I am from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
I grew up up with both Western and Asian 2D animated films, which helped me learn English at a young age. It was not until I discovered Rebecca Sugar’s storyboards for Adventure Time and Steven Universe in 2017 that I knew I wanted to become a storyboard artist. I was mesmerized by the way she drew strong gestures and conveyed specific emotions with expressive faces. 

In 2019, I came to Colorado to study animation at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. 

When I'm not drawing, I enjoy cooking, hiking, yoga, video editing and dance. I also volunteered as an Research Assistant at Asians in Animation to provide access to industry education for Asian communities all across the globe.

I am currently working as a Children's Book Illustrator.
